Last Storm Regatta - 2011

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are pleased to invite the 470 sailors to take part in the “Last Storm Regatta 2011" to be held in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 17th to 18th September 2011.

Last year regatta had a great success - there were tight competition between eleven teams with guests from Latvia. 

This event is the most important event in Lithuanian 470 class and we expect bigger competition this year from neighbour countries.

Location

Race will be held in Kaunas yacht club (end of T.Masiulis street, west side of Kaunas). 

Yacht club is located at the shore of Kaunas Reservoir (artificial lake of 60 square kilometers), has two marinas, in the neighborhood of beautiful landscape regional park and 17th century baroque architecture masterpiece – Pazaislis monastery.
Nearby are two hotels, the restaurant, guarded parking area.

Kaunas Reservoir (or Kaunas sea) has the best internal water sailing conditions. The average wind speed during autumn season is 5 m/s. Wind is not constant, but variable with short strong gusts (so no sleeping on trapeze).
